Feb. 1 update from ICU and -Three Gifts Red

Update from ICU.  Day 3-Today has been a difficult day. While Cade is progressing in some ways, he is not in others.  He spent most of the day sleeping, barely talking. This was different from yesterday.

His color is coming back and his hands are warm.  Toes are wiggling, hands are moving.  He had to have an IV put in under his clavicle.  The neurologist came in and let me know that Cade would be in ICU until Wednesday, which was later that we hoped for.  The good news in that is he gets around the clock care.

Today was difficult for other reasons.  This morning we had three families join us in the waiting room that a family member had been injured.  Seeing those families go through the initial not knowing was hard. I was ready to hide away from them. Their emotions stirring up my emotions. Scott has become a source of comfort and prayer for those families.

By the 8:30 pm visitation, Cade was awake enough to have short conversation.  He drank some Powerade and ate cinnamon apple sauce. We praise GOD for the little things and know that his hand is on this situation.

For joy dare today I have three things red.  These gifts are the blood of Jesus Christ, the words of Jesus Christ written in red, and the final gift is the slowing red coming from Cade's drain from his surgery.

1 Peter 1:19 NLT

It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
