Feb. 2 -Update on Cade and Three Gifts on paper

Today is Day 4 in ICU with Cade.  The day was really busy.  When we arrived in Cade's room he looked much better than yesterday. We had a lots of family and friends to visit. Cade sat up in a chair for the first time.  Cade felt really good around lunch time and entertained us with some quotes from his favorite silly movie, Napoleon Dynamite.   The occupational therapist and physical therapist visited. Cade showed them he could take his socks off and put them back on. He then went for a walk to the nurses station and back.   After that he was so tired he slept for a few hours. Later is afternoon his drain from surgery was removed. Since the drain was removed he decided that it was time to shave his entire head.

This was my first opportunity too see the incision site and staples.  The afternoon turned into a time of laughter with Cade.  We believe the medicine had him feeling just right and he was very animated. The minute he got tired he told us, good night.
He slept for a good three hours before he woke up again.

Scott and I are still blessed by the outpouring of love shown to us.  You gave all been a rock to us in this situation. We have seen the Church at work. We give GOD the glory and praise for getting us thus far.

I began 2015 by reading the book, One Thousand  Gifts.  The book encourages you to look for daily thanksgiving or graces from GOD. I began a joy dare on January 1st.  I had an entire month of gifts before this accident happened.  The gifts I have been given from GOD has been so much greater since Friday.  Today's gifts are three things on paper: two are cards to Cade and the third was a quote from Ann Voskamp posted on Facebook today that totally fit our situation.
