March 19- Three gifts Eaten

My gifts today are three gifts eaten.  While any time we eat is a gift, I get to pick out three things.

  1. Salad from the Truck Stop Restaurant.  This time that I was eating the salad was spent with dear friend from our United Way office.  It is an honor to serve on the Butts County Advisory board and work toward solving issues in Education, Income, Health, Homelessness, and Basic Needs of those in Butts County.  I am particularly excited about the work that is starting with Vets Connect.  We are working to make sure our Veterans are aware of their benefits and if they need support with homelessness or basic needs, United Way can help.
  2. Dinner at Saki Japanese Restaurant with Scott and Cullen.  Cullen played about  a quarter of the soccer game and did a great job, so we celebrated with Japanese.  They did not win the game but they have improved over the season.  My favorite item at the Japanese Restaurant is the soup and salad.   Another reason this dinner was special is because we saw a young friend of ours sitting at the next table reading the Word of GOD out loud to his friend at the table.  We thank GOD for him and his witness.
  3. My third gift eaten is one that I don't often eat.  I had Easter colored Peanut M&Ms today.  Peanut M&Ms have always been my candy of choice.
Things are definitely looking like they are getting back to normal at our house.  We are running from one place to the other with events that keep us busy.  Cade and Scott are getting into a morning routine of working out at the gym.   Cade and Akseli attended a birthday dinner this evening and we had a friend we had not seen in awhile visit last night.

A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough. 1 Timothy 6: 6-8 (MSG)
